Our Team

Marian has over 30 years experience in careers psychology and has a special interest in Life Career Development. Marian served as director of the Career Development Office at Macquarie University and has held roles with QUT and the University of Qld. Marian holds a BA (Psych, Hons), and PhD from the University of Qld and is a member of the Career Development Association of Australia, Australian Psychologists Association and APS College of Counselling Psychologists. Marian founded Career Avenues in 1992.

Kerry holds a BA (Hons), MSc (Counselling Psychology), Diploma in Executive Coaching and Graduate Certificate in Career Development (Swinburne University). Kerry has provided career-life counselling to adults and teens for 15 years and is passionate about supporting people to surface their strengths, values and drivers to inform decisions about purposeful living. Her warmth, insight, genuine curiosity and humour creates a safe space for clients to explore these important issues. Kerry is particularly passionate about working with adolescents and supporting them through key decisions in high school years and beyond. She is a professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia.

Danielle holds a BA/BEd from UNSW, a Graduate Certificate in Management (UNSW/AGSM) and a Graduate Certificate in Career Education and Development (RMIT). Danielle gained experience in secondary education before transitioning to a Management Consulting role specialising in executive search, management and leadership development. Danielle joined Career Avenues to further her passion for assisting others to reach their potential. She is a member of the Careers Development Association of Australia.

Beth holds a BA from UNSW, and a Graduate Diploma of Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology. Prior to training as a counsellor, Beth was a promotions producer for various TV networks, including the BBC London and Network Ten. Beth focuses her counselling skills toward her passion for helping students plan their pathway and those making a career change. Beth is a member of CDAA and has worked with Career Avenues since 2018.

Teresa has Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education from UNSW Australia, a Diploma of Religious Education from the Australian Catholic University and a Graduate Certification in Career Education from Edith Cowan University. She is a member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA) and the New South Wales Careers Association (CAA). She has over 30 years experience in Career Counselling both in schools and independently, working with clients to determine the next step on their career path. Teresa has extensive experience in senior subject selection, university course preferences and post school pathways.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Commerce, DiSC Accreditation and Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Angela has many years experience in supporting clients' professional development and enjoys training, facilitating and coaching people of all ages across multiple industries. She is passionate about working with students to highlight their strengths and explore possible career pathways.

Stacy holds a Master of Career Development, Graduate Diploma of Education and Bachelor of Applied Science, and is a member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA) and Queensland College of Teachers. She has over sixteen years’ experience helping her clients make occupational and study decisions, find career information, and plan and manage their careers. Her work history includes working as Head of Careers at a large Grammar School, contracting to educational organisations and to Career Avenues, working as a Career Development Practitioner at the University of Southern Queensland, casual lecturing in Career Development at James Cook University, professional mentoring and supervision of other career development practitioners, as well as seeing private clients.

Suzie holds a BSc. Hons (Psychology) from the University of Surrey, UK. Her areas of expertise include workplace mental health, career counselling and career wellbeing. Suzie draws on 20 years' experience as a psychologist with extensive experience in workplace culture, leadership and work/life integration. She is passionate about working with clients seeking to explore their unique skills and talents to identify career paths which align with their strengths, passions and career aspirations. Suzie is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and member of the Association for Coaching (AC).

Rod holds a Graduate Diploma of Teaching (LaTrobe), an Advanced Diploma in Management (Swinburne), a Graduate Certificate in Career Education and Development (RMIT) and is a qualified Myers-Briggs practitioner. Rod gained experience in Management and Career Education specialising in programs for young people disengaged from education and employment. He then moved to secondary teaching with a speciality in Career Education working in both the Private and Public education systems. Rod has extensive knowledge of university application systems and the alternative pathways to tertiary study including scholarship applications. He also has extensive experience guiding students who are considering applications to overseas Universities. He is passionate about working with young people to identify career aspirations and explore pathways to achieve these.

Nicole holds an MA in Psychology from the University of Sydney and a Grad Dip in Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology. She is a member of Australian Counselling Association and is an accredited MajorsPTI Practitioner. Currently, Nicole is a Counsellor supporting high school students in programs focused on resilience, confidence, life skills and goal setting. Prior to this, Nicole has over 15 years as a consultant in executive recruitment, working with and advising businesses and individuals on leadership and career development. She is passionate about working with students on their aspirations and career paths, aligning them with their strengths, talents and values.

Lorna holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, a Higher Diploma of Education (with Distinction) and a Masters degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from the University of Sydney. She has served as a School Counsellor, Careers Adviser and teacher in top performing Australian and overseas schools. Lorna is dedicated to guiding and encouraging students through the process of identifying career goals and accessing post-school opportunities to achieve their potential. Her range of experience over twenty-five years has included assisting students in securing valued employment direct from school to working with students who have earned prestigious scholarships at Australian and international universities.
